PREPAID EVERYTHING

How many of us have ever been suckered into contracts by free phones, bundles, or 6-month promotional rates? If only everything was prepaid. Well, actually, everything can be and I don't mean just cell phone service. There are ways to have cable of satellite without dealing with the contracts. Also, many cell phone services provide prepaid internet services. But lets start with TV first. Purchasing your own cable or satellite box can eliminate the monthly leasing charge for equipment you dont't even get to keep. And either way they dont sell their equipment. Most cable tv providers are compatible with TiVo TCD746320 Premiere DVR (Black).Tivo is an awesome DVR with web streaming capabilities. It also doubles as a cable box so you can move it from cable service to cable service. But for satellite tv things are different.DISH Network sells their boxes but they are crazy expensive. With their SD-DVR at $248, their HD box at $348, and their HD-DVR box at 598, it seems pointless buying their equipment. However DirecTV saves us from that outrageous equipment buying price. DirecTV standard definition boxes are $69, their HD boxes are $99, their SD-DVR boxes are $99, and their HD-DVR boxes are $199. Big difference, huh? Definitely! As for GoogleTV, Netflix, and CinemaNow, they are only supplemental. They don't replace cable useless you only watch movies and barely watch tv. Otherwise it's a useless expense. Keep your money. You can bring your Tivo EVERYWHERE and you use with whatever cable service you want. It also streams Netflix either way, so its a win-win situation. Now on to internet services. As far as wireless broadband, I'm going to be upfront and let you know T-Mobile fastest and has the best coverage. Their prepaid broadband devices start at $39.99. But there are other prepaid options such as Verizon, Virgin Mobile, and AT&T Wireless. In my opinion, the only other one worth getting is the virgin mobile, but its coverage is very "iffy". Sometimes its fast sometimes its not. I've had it before and it was a pain in the rear. Verizon and AT&T to too expensive to even consider. Now for the prepaid cell phone service showdown! The major ones are BOOSTMOBILE, Virgin Mobile, T-mobile, Simple Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, and MetroPCS. I wanted to add cricket mobile and they seem like an awesome carrier but they don't servie my area, so I can't comment on them. As far the list goes, BOOSTMOBILE is the cheapest service and GREAT coverage. The rest of the cell phone providers either lack in reception or their unlimited plans are too expensive. BOOSTMOBILE is honestly the best pick and this is from experience. SO THERE U GO! Thats all the prepaid services for you. Go out there and start saving money!

THE BATTLE OF GAS PRICES

Ever find yourself driving around in a circle, WASTING GAS, looking for the cheapest gas prices? Don't have the money to buy a new or used hybrid or electric/plug-in car. Then here is some information that can put you ahead of the game. There are websites out there that have updated daily gas prices. MY favorite is GASBUDDY.COM. Other ways to save money is to find a "GOOD" GPS that doesn't send you in a million different long crazy directions. Find a GPS that is well known for providing short routes. There are even some GPS that will find you the closest or cheapest gas station. Make sure to watch a review on YOUTUBE of whatever GPS you might be interested in. It is the best way to see a product in action without wasting money and time returning or upgrading. If you combine these both, you might not feel like your losing the war against gas prices as much.

Buying a home in the recession...Is it possible? HELL YES!!!

If you live in New England like I do, you'll see that rent has blasted through the roof. Most one bedroom apartments are well over $1000 a month now, so imagining what a two and three bedroom costs should be fairly easy. "So where I am going to live now?" is what most people are going to ask. Well its clear the answer should not be an apartment. With the price of homes plummeting in these hard and endearing times, buying a house or condo/townhouse can easily be the more affordable option. Just a few days ago I was looking at homes myself and found a four bedroom, two bathroom single family home with an asking price of $60,000. Do you know what the monthly payments of a home that price is? Take a look for yourself: CLICK HERE With many first time home buyers programs out there, down payments and closing costs can be drastically reduced. The most popular affordable laon program is known as the FHA LOAN. Your down payment can be as low as 3.5% of the purchase price, and most of your closing costs and fees can be included in the loan. It may also include fixer-upper costs and "Green" costs. You may even get a tax return of specific energy efficient upgrades or installions.Check it out here. Its a prime time to be buyig an affordable home. Get your home today while the economy is still the way it is. And if you take care of your property and raise the value, it will also help the economy. We all have to do our part. GOOD LUCK!

Be "GREEN"....It just makes $en$e

If a had a nickel for every time I saw one of those old incandescent light bulbs in someone's apartment, I'd be a VERY rich man. For Instance, you can purchase a 9 watt Compact Flourescent Light bulb that's gives you the same amount of light as a 40 watt light bulb. And if you didn't do the math yet, this light bulb is using more than 75% LESS energy to produce the same light. And this is just the basics of being green. Did you know that most water heaters are set to 140 degrees by default but only needs to be at 120 degrees? By adjusting the heating temperature you can save on your heating bill. And I'm pretty sure many have already noticed the Energy Star Logo on many appliances over the years. Even buying the right refrigerator can save you more than 50 dollars a year. Now...I know many have thought that fifty dollars over the period a year isn't much...but that's only because when you aren't looking at the whole picture. Your not going see a big enough difference if your half-assed about being greener. If your going to be greener do it all--do it the right way. If you have ceiling fan, you can use it with your air conditioning in the summer. The ceiling will not only help the air circulate better, but also lets you run the less time at less power consuming settings. Do the right thing. Do the smart thing. Its cheaper and doesn't require much effort. Who doesn't like the extra cash in their pocket?
